Have you ever seen a map of the US before? How is a tsunami going to hit either of those cities?

Look into the Cascadia subduction zone of the Juan de Fuca plate. A 9.0+ quake in the subduction zone could send a tsunami 100ft high from Northern California to Vancouver BC
