A tsunami warning has been issued after an enormous earthquake 7.8m hit Alaska.
The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km (six miles), the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences has said.
The warning is in effect for South Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula.
An alert said the level of tsunami danger is also being evaluated for other US and Canadian Pacific coasts in North America.
"Based on the preliminary earthquake parameters, hazardous tsunami waves are possible for coasts located within 300km of the earthquake epicentre," the warning reads.
The situation is under investigation.

Tsunamis are so apocalyptic. They come on fast like tornados and destroy everything like hurricanes. Plus, coming from the ocean it has that element of the unknown. Freaky stuff

Is this a divine being hitting reset on the Pacific Northwest?

It would be pretty interesting to see the effects of a tsunami on Portland and Seattle. I mean I wouldn’t want it to actually happen but I wonder if they could handle catastrophic flooding and subsequent anarchy better than New Orleans.

Those cities would become a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah post astroid. Their idealogy fit the biblical story as well.
