He's not wrong. If you have desirable skills I'd try and pull strings to go the officer route if you really want to join. Only way you should enlist would to get a good Rate/MOS in cryptology or intel. Oh and go reserves.

I think the age limit for an officer is lower. It seems like it's like 35 or something. I could be wrong though.
