NYC is back to where it was in the mid-70's. Spending money they don't have, and letting the scumbags run rampant. NYC's arrogance is back too. Who remember's the stories of NYC's Mayor and staff in the Ford White House, demanding that the rest of the country bail NYC out while they did stupid things like refusing to charge tuition at City College of New York? The endless "Free, Free, Free" stuff at city expense?
Anyone remember Ford's reply to them? It wasn't "Drop Dead" (no, the NY Daily News just made that up... Fake News indeed).
No, Ford told them "Gentlemen, Federal help is not on the way".
Trump should continue to do the same. If New Yorkers are determined to return to some hellscape out of The Warriors movie, then let them. Wall the place off to protect the rest of us from their stupidity.

Because Giuliani implemented the “broken windows” policy, and other cities followed this model.
The cities are screwed, and deservedly so. The financial services sector that helped bring New York back has learned through the COVID issue that they can now have employees work remotely. There will be a mass exodus out of urban areas by white collar employees, and I’m looking forward to the chaos that ensues.
