Heading on a small road trip with the Wife starting this weekend. one part of our trip is staying 2 nights in the Smokey's- Cades Cove. Anyone been out there recently? how are the bugs at night? We camped there two years ago during the fall and didn't have any issues. Haven't been to Tennessee during the summer months.

I've been camping there around a dozen times throughout the years, and never really had any problems with bugs that I recall. Never camped near Cade's Cove though. We always try to get a spot at Elkmont.

Not camped in the Smokey Mountains, but the Smoky Mountains have some mosquitoes. It's not too bad though. Just hot, I prefer spring and fall camping.

You'll have some mosquitos but nothing intolerable. Little spray and you're good.
