I’ve heard of dogs behavior changing during a pregnancy. Not sure if that’s the case here, though.

When our son was born (our first) the nurses suggested I take home a blanket that they had used to swaddle him in and let our little mongrel mutt from the pound have it to get used to his scent before he came home. I did it and that dog took that blanket, went to the nursery we had wallpapered and painted and prepared...and proceeded to try to destroy that blanket and then took a dump on it! That dog never shat in the house but it did on that blanket LOL...there is no doubt dogs know when something is changing in the home....they are incredibly intuitive.
