I was 11 in the 6th grade. I had to help milk the cows in my father's dairy barn. I then remember getting home to watch the Falcons upset the 49ers. I then took a shower and sat down and watched The Day After. I remember bad 1980's special effects when the bombs went off. I remember my dad telling me and my brother about the Cuban Missile Crisis which occurred during his junior year of high school. I also remember discussing it at school the next day. It made you think about Nuclear War, but I wasn't scared or anything.

I don’t know how we’ll fight WW3, but I know how we’ll fight WW4...with sticks and stones.

This was made at the same time the No Nukes Protests were happening. I remember watching a PBS special about Reagan 20 years later. They interviewed one of the former protestors, and his comment about Reagan was priceless - “the sonofabitch was right”.

I was in college when it came out, and yes it was all about trying to convince people that Reagan was gonna start a nuclear war and get us all killed.
I remember a bunch of these genius celebrities saying Reagan was a madman. Sound familiar to anyone today?
Idiots like Don Henley and Dan Fogleberg were especially active in this BS.
