Years ago I qualified and was invited.... then realized it was stupid and was just a glorified pat on the back and “we’re better than the rest“ club, so I declined.
In a mist cultish manner they harassed me for years afterward to change my mind. Very strange.

dude they are relentless
for a club that's supposed to feel exclusive, begging people to try to join seems so counter-productive

I guess they're not that smart after all.
Obvious solution is to offer people a tangible benefit for membership.
