Yeah I saw that earlier, that's crazy.

I was just about to post this. We could learn a few of these plays this year with the QB's, receivers and tight ends we have...

I worry more about it used AGAINST us... it might make our defensive line advantage obsolete (to a degree). All you have to do is audible the 'take' and send whoever lines up against the "big boys".

I think getting to the QB's quickly is what defending that O has to be all about.

Terrelle Pryor fits perfectly for this system.

The Germans created it.

It is, but hard to do when you're spread out so thin across the field. I could definitely see the wizard stirring this into the pot.

Several things to consider:
1. The defense had everyone covered – usually the receiver down field had two defenders.
2. They made the playoffs for three years, which I’m guessing made them in the top 16+ teams – but no championships.
3. Most of their gains looked like the result of bad tackling – not brilliant maneuvers.
4. If my memory serves me, we have stuffed it every time it was tried against us.
5. I noticed that every play seemed slow to develop because the spread of the offense.
6. We have won two NMs lately without using it.
Sorry guys – I just think this should be left in High School, grasping programs, and the sandlots.

Looks like flag football to me.

Yea leave that in high school. Florida tried it last year and Tebow got sacked on the play. All it really does is stretch out the "lineman" because most of the "recievers" arent eligible. If they release its a screen/running play. Its seems rather easy to me to shut down.

Yeah it looks pretty bad from their highlight video. It only showed catches that were made right next to a defender or jump balls. I didn't notice anyone wide open or anything.

The only way I can see this type of defense being exceptional is if you have a QB that can break tackles, like Tebow, or one with RB type agility.
If you have a QB that can make guys miss or break a tackle, it would be tough to defend both the QBs and all the WRs.
Otherwise, its a very pedestrian offense if the other team has at least two good pass rushing DL while the rest of the team drops into a zone.

Thats they same play that Florida ran against us. It was busted up, but if tebow would have looked to the swinging gate side, it woulda been six for the gators.

my initial thoughts were so on point w/your point number 1....everyone was freaking covered.....how about someone making a play!!!

Everyone keeps saying that was used against us when we played Florida. Can someone give me a clip of that??!!!? I dont remember anyone ever using tha texact formation against us. If you are going to downplay the formation and say we stufed it, show some proof. I doubt you are correct.
