I moved back home to NY and the toughest challenge was the “food culture” and the “drinking culture” (ie no drive through daiquiris, bars open past 2AM, and no drinks before noon on Sundays)

Otherwise, there’s all four seasons, the landscape/vistas are breathtaking, the people are similarly pleasant, and there’s a ton more shite to do. Tons of lakes, boating, hiking, etc.

That said, I’m just outside of Rochester, NY... so it’s ~6+hrs from NYC which is a WHOLE different world.

It’s beautiful here.

Your question begs another question; Why leave LA now? where are you proposing on moving? Do you have a family? A job lined up?

All this said, I absolutely loved my nearly 2 decades living in LA and grew to call it home for a number of reasons...

Fun fact: 3 out of 4 people born in LA, never leave LA, and then die in LA.

Upstate NY is gorgeous, but very cold!
