How much of that was food and drink?

I mean it wasn't meant to be a hot take Not sure why that brought in angry downvotes. I was taking up for people who vacation at the beach.

The beach is super economical for a family vs. flying somewhere and dining out every night because the per-room cost ends up cheaper in a condo and families tend to cook a lot of meals. I imagine paying $200/night plus paying for each family member 3x a day in a city is expensive compared to the beach.

Food does add up. I couldn’t eat breakfast in aspen last week with a family of 4 for less that $100. Add lunch and dinner and I spent $500 a day on food
