Dvd, br-d and other canned methods are still viable. This is especially true for people that live beyond the reach of broadband.

And since purchasing cloud media isn't the "permanent" option we were led to believe, having a physical digital library isn't a terrible idea.

you can have a physical digital library on an SSD or HD. you don't need to be pigeon-holed into hanging on to a giant stack of plastic disks unless you're that geico caveman.

the 'not available online' comment is dumb. you can find far more stuff online than you can digging through the junk dvd bin at walmart or what amazon deems is 'politically correct' to allow you to purchase from their store.

having said all that, i came of age to night flight and radio 1990. i remember that's the first place i saw 'the fabulous stains' which was not only incredible but played on the tv in its full uncensored diane-lane-nude glory

this boy had the the sound on VERY VERY LOW into the wee hours out of fear his parents were going to wake up and nothing says busted like the 'ka-chunk' of me changing the channel right as they are walking into the room.

Try watching your favorite Bond film when it ends up unavailable on line due to some legal horseshite.
Not happening.
