I don't think any anyone under 30 can really understand the Durst phenomenon. I mean he's remembered like some one-hit wonder now, if any young people even know who he is.
He was one of the biggest celebrities in America. And didn't he bang Britney Spears around the same time Colin Farrell did?
He is also is the reason the band died.
But anyone who thinks Limp Bizkit in that form would have survived if everyone had gotten along, is wrong.
They weren't going to be Pearl Jam and morph into a folk, concert jam band that tours for another 30 years.
Even Kid Rock, who basically on his own challenged Limp Bizkit and was as talented as any rocker of the time, could not maintain the Nu Metal/rap-Rock shite.
He was singing country duets by like 2004 and had Turned into a full modern southern rock/country star by the end of the decade.
That genre lived and died a quick death. I don't think Limp Bizkit was equipped to continue like they were without seriously altering their format.
Any form of real rock basically died 15 years ago.

I don’t think they’re treated like one hit wonders, Durst just makes for an easy target as the poster boy of a “WTF were we thinking?” period
It’s easy to pretend you hated Limp back then but hey I’ll defend 3 dollar bill and significant others. Chocolate starfish is probably where he jumped the shark, he was really smelling his own shite at that point. I think there was one song on there that began with a random shout out to Ben stiller
