All universities are motivated to have students on campus and in classrooms this Fall... Would you pay Stanford or Princeton tuition for classes online? Months ago financial advisors sent customers letters advising them to spend education dollars wisely.

I suspect the season is in jeopardy of not being played.
There are politics in play, and I'm not even talking about partisan politics.
Infection rates and hospitalizations are rising, and states are beginning to backpedal on opening up.
How do you justify squeezing restaurants, bars, churches etc, and then on the other hand go ahead with football- which is probably the single biggest gathering of people in each city that has a team?
Simple, you can't.
We're going on basically a wait-and-see mandate right now, and sports, football in particular, needs some structure and preparation to be ready.
As for the no-fans option, it sounds like a solution. But go back and look at the riots, and people going to the beaches, etc- you've told your population to shelter in home isolated for a couple months, then suddenly they get a chance to get out for whatever reason. People are going out because they're going nuts cooped up.
You're telling me you think they can have a game at Tiger Stadium, and you're going to be able to keep people away from... somewhere around LSU? What are you going to do, put the National Guard on Highland and Nicholson, and try to disperse people?
I think we're getting close to pulling the plug on the season now, probably within a month at the most. We (the people, including the government) either need to have this under control, or we will have to put off "entertainment and gatherings" for the time being.
And with sports, that's got a pretty inflexible timeline, you're talking about just dropping a season.
