When these cities abolish their police departments...

...and whole police forces are laid off: what’s going to happen when these recently laid off (and pissed off) cops join with the citizenry as civilians to wage war on these ANTIFA/BLM types?
Say I’m a recently unemployed cop whose department has just been abolished. One of the things that has always protected criminals was fear of losing my job and/or prosecution for violating their civil rights.
Now? If I join with my fellow former cops? frick your civil rights. We’ve now got no incentive to NOT suppress your lawlessness as brutally as possible because we have no jobs to lose. Furthermore, there’s nobody there to arrest us for just flat-out annihilating you.
You want anarchy? Be careful. It’s not what you’re wishing for.

So the only reason cops aren't more brutal is because they might get fired?

Of course the City Council members will have private security which the public pays for.

i think that is the blowfast the commies arent thinking about..
yes, no cops= antifa can run wild.
but also, no cops then antifa= target practice.
is a very dangerous slope...
the man with nothing to lose is no the person you want pissed at you.

I’m sorry.
What part of the phrase “one of the things” did you not understand?
Bottom line: cops also protect those protesting them. It’s extremely foolish to throw that protection away.

Cities that disband law enforcement will see a dramatic spike in crime followed by a much more dramatic drop as even low level criminals are shot by vigilantes
Power vacuums don't last and the only reason these riots have occurred is because the police provided protection. Without the cops, rioters and looters would be mowed down by the thousands.

You said "one of the things" and followed with:
quote:
. We’ve now got no incentive to NOT suppress your lawlessness as brutally as possible because we have no jobs to lose.
Just to be clear, I agree with your point:
quote:

I just hope there is more than fear of job loss stopping police officers from brutalizing protestors.

You're just like that BBC wench that interviewed Jordan Peterson.

I hear a person can make a lot of money selling drugs when there are fewer police around.

Like a guy told me once that was diagnosed with cancer about a guy that had fricked him over.
“He better hope that it’s not terminal cancer. Because if it is, I’m gonna kill him before I go.”

quote:I can remember the good old days when the KKK would get a permit to protest and the cops would stand between them and the angry mob.
this is true.
those protestors were protected by the cops.
I can also remember pondering how that would play out if the cops were not there.
Probably be a short lived event as the 2 sides battle. Then the vigilantes would mop up the survivors from both sides and there would be no more protests in that area in the future for at least another generation.
