re: What happened to McDonalds and Burger King

Times were just simpler back then. I never had a birthday party at McDonald's, but went to a few at one. They were fairly simple celebrations where you ate lunch and played on the playground. Birthday parties for kids today are geared more towards the parents impressing their friends than anything.

People also didn't eat out back then near as much as they do now, so trips to McDonald's were seen as a treat, at least in my family.
