[quote]Ok, let's cut out all of this bullshite. Luxury vinyl is in no way, shape or form "wood like." Wood is wood and vinyl is vinyl. It doesn't feel like wood. It doesn't sound like wood. It only looks like wood. Your home gains value when you install real wood floors. Vinyl is actually less appealing on the market.
This 100%
Are you people part of some hardwood religious cult I don't know about?
It's ok for there to be flooring option other than handcrafted hardwood.
LVP checks a lot of boxes regarding durability, looks, price, etc so it's a good option for a lot of people. That doesn't mean it's always the best choice though..... Damn

Wood is wood and vinyl is vinyl. Both have there places in a home. Reason as to why vinyl is used more is that a true wood floor cost 3-4 times more then vinyl. And then add in the extra care and up keep.
Another thing to think about. A good 95% of houses these days use paint grade trim completely thru a house. Why? Cause of cost saving. Now 50-60+ years ago, 95% of houses used stain grade wood in their trim work. Another reason for that is not many people can hang stain grade lumber trim and the extra cost to finish it out.
So people try to save a dollar here and a dollar there. You get what you pay for.
Besides that, walking on a real wood floor compared to walking on a vinyl floor is a world of difference.
