Last year for the first 11 games of the season, despite the fact that LSU had an extremely talented defensive team, they under performed quite badly. However, they finally picked up their level of play tremendously in the final four games of the season to become the best defense in the country.

It’s almost as if when the defense was fully healthy they got better and became a very good defense. But that can’t be it Injuries are just an excuse right?

Beginning of the year the d line was beat up then Todd Harris went out and they had to find his replacement then Delpit was playing on one leg it seemed for a couple games which definitely showed in the Ole Miss game. When both the d line and Delpit were healthy for the postseason, along with Hampton’s emergence when Delpit went out giving them another option, the team played very well.
