seems like it will revolve around the mom's death or jamie's relationship with the mom.

remember the episode where beth hit puberty and the mom was telling her about how she would have to be stronger...or something like that. she gets lectured about being stronger while jamie acts like a big pussy and gets sent off to law school.

I think this too... Maybe it was Jamie's fault the Mom got killed on her horse and Beth got blamed and never forgave/forgot??
