I hate this argument. It often leads to meaning "just deal with it since it's better than other places." It's not like he's saying he'd rather play for Italy, Spain, etc
That’s not even my argument. My point is he doesn’t deal with systemic racism here, despite what the press parrots. He is safer in the UK because they have a lower crime rate, not because the police are out to get them in the US. Black men murder each other at a rate higher than any other group, even accounting for poverty and other socioeconomic factors. Police kill more white people per year than black people and more unarmed whites than unarmed blacks. Multiple studies show whites are more likely to be a victim of lethal force by a police officer than blacks. Black people are more likely to be killed by a black cop than a white one. Black people have advantages in the country over their white peers, such as innumerable minority scholarships, affirmative action, and minority owned business get tax and other governmental advantages. Black people get into grad schools (medicine, law, dental) with lower GPAs and standardized test scores than their Hispanic, white, and Asian counterparts. America is truly the land of opportunity if you work hard and value education, and this is how immigrants from Central America, Africa, India, etc, with nothing to their name and no grasp of the language exit poverty in one generation. This whole “black people have it so bad in America” narrative is such a crock of shite to anyone who can look around them with an honest assessment. So there, that’s my argument. It’s all bullshite.
