When I tested YouTube TV last year, you had to watch the commercials for a lot of “recorded” shows. Painful. Is that still true? Anyway around it?

If you are in Baton Rouge that is no longer the case with any of the local channels, CBS was the last holdout and they stopped several months ago at least

Interesting. I might have to revisit this. I had the same complaint when I did a trial run of youtubetv, and that’s why I went with Hulu. It was like youtube sort of just gave you access to network “on demand” series, and didn’t actually record the shows....or something like that.

If it’s recorded you can skip through commercials.

If it’s VOD you can’t skip them. Sometimes when you click on something from your library, they give you the option of both. You have to choose DVR.

Any opinion on video quality for YouTube tv? Do they show channels in 1080? Last I checked, which was probably a year ago, most of the streaming services just offered 720p as the highest streaming level.

It’s just as good as my Direct TV is. I have solid internet in my area and don’t have any issues.

Most channels don't broadcast in 1080p. Most broadcast in 1080i.

As far as I know ABC, ESPN, Fox and some others broadcast in 720p.
