Travel ball is more of a social status for the parents than anything else. 99% of those kids aren't going to go on to do dick as far as baseball. Mom and dad get to brag to all their friends that little Gavin is in travel ball though and they'll be out of town, again, this weekend so they can't make it to your BBQ.
