A few questions-
1. Shouldn’t a child get more from a Will than a grandchild?
Typical succession is that each child would receive a set amount and each grandchild would receive a smaller set amount.
2. If Fred Jr was on the father’s shite list for a decade before Fred Sr passed, wouldn’t it be logical that Fred Jr’s portion of the estate to be passed to his kids is smaller than what went to other heirs?

Per capita distributions are standard where you have a family business like the Trump's did. And given Fred Sr.'s icy relationship with his daughter-in-law, it makes sense that he didn't have a per stirpes distribution, since there was a fear that money to the grandkids would be money to her.
