The 5 round draft will obviously increase the talent level in college baseball. With the expanded rosters there will be less trickle down effect in the transfer portal. This should widen the gap between the top tier teams and the lower teams. That should increase the games LSU wins for the year.

Most top programs will have bullpen depth. I think that will increase the importance of starting and closing pitching. LSU should be in good shape with Hill and Fontenot. I don't know enough about other programs to say if we will have an advantage on Saturday and Sunday.

Defensively LSU is in good shape, ton of outfielders, awesome catcher, Thompson making it to campus and hopefully a healthy Arnold and Cranford.

Offense is going to be the big question mark. With the pitching talent increasing in college baseball, hitting will be that much harder. The potential is there for LSU but potential means you haven't done it yet. It will be very interesting to see what bats will emerge and how that will effect who plays.

I’m over words like ‘potential’ and phrases like ‘should see improvement’.

LSU’s offense as it stands right now, is not going to be good

PM needs to attract some more bats this summer

Having no juco bats coming in is a massive oversight

Florida and Vanderbilt may start the year at 1 and 2. They bring back a ton of arms.

LSU and Ole Miss are next in terms of returning arms.

You are right in that LSU’s going to need some of the young bats to make instant impacts.

As Lester said I would not be surprised to see LSU look at a couple of JUCO infielders or another catcher.

Hill should be your Friday night starter
Fontenot is the closer.
Hill, Labas, Marceaux weekend starters
