Here is David Bowie the hippie in 1971



That's the year he saw an unsigned band called Roxy Music and stole the wardrobe of their lead singer Bryan Ferry. Bowie decided he would dress like Bryan Ferry and write songs like Lou Reed. Is theft selling out?

If you are going down that road, put Led Zeppelin and Van Halen at the front of that line, ahead of Bowie.
