He hasn’t changed his tune at all. Wouldn’t go on the number one podcast in the world, JRE, during his book tour. Went on fricking Conan O’Briens podcast instead.

That "journalist" you refer to is Paul Krugman. He's an economist and NYT opinion columnist. Said the Internet wouldn't be as life changing as the fax machine.
Also, he was eyeball deep in the Enron mess as a consultant to their advisory board. That fiasco cost him a Nobel Prize, but since he's a Keynesian disciple, I don't consider that a great loss.
