end of war on drugs
Sorry....that is just stupid.
I thought we as a society had come to the conclusion that prohibition is a futile endeavor. It won’t and doesn’t and never has helped curtail gun violence and certainly hasn’t done a goddamn thing to curtail drug addiction. The only way forward is to stop creating criminality out of human pain and suffering and substance possession. The war on drugs is and always has been an abysmal failure.
On that token, private, for-profit prisons should be 100% banned.

Nope. Maybe you did, but not me....or the majority of society.

First thing...there is no such thing as "gun violence." You and your leftist buddies made that up. Guns don't commit violence. It is impossible for a gun to commit violence. People commit violence.....with guns, knives, baseball bats, pencils, etc.
Your statement, "certainly hasn’t done a goddamn thing to curtail drug addiction" has no basis in statistics since we (US) have nothing to compare it (legalized drugs) to. Therefore your statement is untrue.

If this is true (which it is not), why not extend this philosophy to murder, rape, etc. You are in search of a "reason" to justify your desired outcome (legalized drugs).

Based on what?

Why? Because if we had fewer prison beds, that would force society to release more criminals out on the streets? Stupid.
