I am saying that a dub of an animated movie is less distracting than a dub of a live action movie.
Even so, a dub of a live action movie is less of a distraction than subtitles.
English speakers > dubbed animated > dubbed live action > subbed live action > subbed animation
I hate closed captioning. I grew up with it because my brother is hearing impaired. It always ends up being wrong, way behind, and covering up vital parts of the screen. CC during sporting events is even worse than useless.
I’ve watched a fair number of subbed movies over the years as well as dubbed ones. I personally prefer watching dubs.

If you use closed captioning for awhile you'll find your eyes adjust and that you learn to see everything at once, the full screen and the subtitles.
