And isn't associated with the redneck crowd. May not be a problem for you, but to a lot of EV buyers....it's a problem.
Regardless of how good the car is, the branding is going to hold it back. Maybe Ford should have started a 3rd brand for their EV's or made this into a Lincoln product.

I think they want the Mach_E to appeal to sports performance people more than the typical treehuggin hippie EV buyer

I definitely know people who like both Mustangs and electric cars. The redneck / soyboy dichotomy you're imagining is far from perfect.
