re: Nothing will change until we have an honest discussion in this country

By and large, regardless of race, people who undertake certain activities--get at least a high school diploma, stay out of trouble with the law, get a job, get married, wait to have children until after marriage--do better than people who deviate from that path. I understand that the level of education in some black inner city communities sucks for complicated reasons, but the rest of this is pretty straightforward and well understood by social scientists. Comes back to personal responsibility and not blaming others.
