US could do something much drastic and effective, shut down all cell service where protests are going on or slow all traffic to where all live streaming is impractical.

If they shut down ISP's and people can't work, they'll see what real trouble is.

It doesn’t need to be over a large area.

They should be able to pinpoint it to certain cell sites not to affect those outside the area.

They don’t have any authority to do that.

So much for keeping government out of our lives, but it’s cool if it’s “them”. Hypocrites.

Are you people actually getting giddy about the concept of government censoring free speech?

WTF kind of world am I living in?

They don't need to. With both the AG declaring domestic violence, Founding Father provisions mean the stupid rioters are being tracked and all of their contacts traced. Their bank account activity is known. Their whereabouts are known and encryption apps are wide arse open.

They don't even have to be treated as citizens.

Government owns the airwaves.

They can order the FCC to tell the cell companies to shut it down or limit access to get a handle on the situation.

Also, it can be useful as many news media companies depend on cellular links back to their studios so they can hamper some of this coverage.

I think some of the social media and traditional media coverage is accelerating some of the anarchy.
