it is tough when you have so many calibers.
i try to have lots of crossover ammo.
have a S&W 44 magnum model 29 dirty harry style revolver
fires same ammo as my henry rifle. most mine tho is 5.56 and 7.62 x39 and 54R. i just have so many calibers mainly for handguns.

Yes ammo is the most important thing to have stockpiled. Because without it a rifle is a stick and a pistol is a rock. I would recommend that unless you are some kind of collector it would be better to have just one or two guns but plenty of ammo instead of a bunch of guns with few bullets
