Death by cop averages to about 1000 per year and that number has been fairly consistent for a while.

A small fraction of those are deemed illegitimate

This doesn't distinguish between people that were armed, unarmed, posing a threat, etc.

It also says shot to death, so not sure if people like George Floyd, Eric Gray, and the guy selling cigarettes in NY would be counted.

Blacks are underrepresented in terms of police killing.
If you adjust for their rate of violent crime.
