It’s just a training cue to help train proper hip rotation.
It’s not uncommon to use different sports equipment as cues.
Just watch some pitching drills and see all of the wacky shite those guys get up to

So that shite that ESPN forced down our throats with "QB guru" George Whitfield and his broomsticks, the man who was changing the game and position in 2013?
Because we saw how that guy lost his luster once Johnny Football crashed and burned.
Oh and what do you know. When you look at his list of QBs trained, Jameis is on there.
