Pretty shitty move, if true. Career trajectory defines most people whether they admit it or not, and this is fricking with the wife’s sense of purpose. I couldn’t ever bring myself to having the audacity to assume I know what’s best for someone else.

My wife is the most passive, easy going, person I know. She would absolutely take a pan to my head if I did something like this.

Reverse the sexes and tell me you wouldn’t lose your fricking mind if your wife talked to your boss about how listless and despondent you’ve become at home and work and the result is you are repositioned. Might not be a demotion, but it potentially redirects your career. I would be apoplectic if my wife did that. This is paternalistic as all Hell and invalidates the wife’s ability to be an adult on her own.
