To a certain extent you're right, but a response similar to Germany would've been possible for us if this hadn't been politicized from the jump and we'd tried to handle it more as a public health than a PR problem. The public has a limited reservoir of trust to follow massive public-health interventions. We drained our reservoir mighty quick.

Yes, Biden and Pelosi and other dems should not have labeled Trump's January restrictions on travel from China as xenophobic.

We were never going to respond like Germany or any other country. Our people are not nearly as monolithic.
