Fun Fact: Marion Cotillard was initially cast as Brandt, but Nolan found out she was a moon landing conspiracy theorist, and quickly got her off the project because of that. I think she would have been a slightly better choice than Ann Hathaway, but you couldn’t have her in press conferences with Kip Thorne and not have it undermine the message of the film. It’d be the equivalent of making one of the stars of Schindler’s List a Holocaust denier.
