I was harder on my kids than I was the rest of the team.
We have two guys that coach the local REC peewee teams, they've been doing it for several years. Both coach on the high school team as well. They do an outstanding job with those kids. They are fathers to a lot of those kids that don't have one at home. I've heard mothers tell them if they need their arse whooped pull your belt off and give them one. If they get in trouble at school they punish them on the field the whole practice.

I certainly don’t envy you, but definitely have respect for the good ones out there

My sons 7th grade football team had 14 kids last year. O-line = D-line.

I've dabbled in it myself a few years off and on. The biggest crutch is definitely that one parent who thinks they run the damn league. Last year when I was coaching football we were rotating players on defense every few plays and the commissioner (who had a kid on the other team) said he received a complaint from the parents about the rotating, said it was violating the player participation rule. Our HC almost got relieved for telling the guy to take the participation rules and shove it up his arse
Do yall have any similar experiences?
Parents are stupid plain and simple

Dad coached me growing up, and I’m extremely grateful he did. Gave us a chance to bond over sports, made a lot of friends, friends’ parents already trusted him because they saw him coach us. He put a lot of time into setting travel teams up and learning so he could coach us. It’s something I hope to do for my kids one day.
On a note related to the thread, reffed 1st-8th grade soccer when I was in high school. My friend and I had to throw a parent out of a game for 3rd-4th graders because he wouldn’t stop yelling at us. Some parents got way too into their kids sports.
