As you age, your body makes less and less Vit D and it's hard to get enough thru food. I take 2000 units a day and my level still isn't really high.

This was maybe 10 or so years ago. I was feeling bad all of the time. Tired, no energy. Was having joint pains. Went to the doctor and it turned out my vitamin D count was extremely low. I didn't take any vitamins at the time, but I was outside a good bit, but of course working it wasn't as much as I would have liked... Anyway, my doctor gave me a shot and told me to start taking a good bit of IUs (I forgot how much) and then told me to do it for about month then with a multi vitamin I could start taking what I take now.

She explained to me how if your body doesn't get enough VD it starts pulling it out of your bone marrow which is when people start experiencing problems. At first I thought it was bullshite.. As if there was no way simply taking some vitamins could get rid of the issues I was having. After two or so days I started gradually feeling better.
