Rick Majerus was never fully sold on Rudy Gay:
I'm not a big Gay guy
I would go with Elgin Baylor, personally. He never seems to come up much in terms of older stars, but he averaged 35 points and 20 rebounds, then 38 and 19 in back to back years.
Even with two injury plagued years at the end of his career where he barely cracked double figure scoring, he still averaged 27 and 14 for his career.

The No. 1 draft pick in 1958, NBA Rookie of the Year in 1959, 11-time NBA All-Star, and a 10-time member of the All-NBA first team, he is regarded as one of the game's all-time greatest players
his turn-around midrange jumper was HORSE material for us 12 year olds.
10 time first team.
the definition of elite all time.
