The post I replied to said that people would be called and told to self quarantine. That is much different than simply knowing you might have come into contact with someone with covid-19.

Honestly, I don't know exactly what would be done. They would probably want you tested, but people are really stingy with the tests right now. They would probably ask you to self isolate, but if you don't comply, authorities have the power, seeing as we're in a pandemic, to require it.

We've already lost almost 1 Tiger Stadium full of people, we don't want to lose 2.

Okay, lets use Superior Grill.

Say I decide to go Uptown and eat at Superior Grill today. First day back, nice sunny weather. I bet they'll be doing some business today. Two weeks from now, I am sick.

I somehow remember that I was at Superior on May 16th, and they assign someone to call all people who dined there that day. Even at 25%, you're probably talking 300 people when you consider that most people go out in groups and tables are turned every hour.

THREE HUNDRED PEOPLE are told to self quarantine? And authorities are somehow able to enforce 300 individuals who live all over the place to do that? Come on.. That isn't possible. What? They're doing to place 300 officers outside of people's homes?

And that is one lone example. The new cases each day are 200+ people. So my one example is multiplied out to thousands and thousands. The entire city would be under "self quarantine".

And that's not even touching on the topic of all of the other people those fellow diners came into contact with before they got the call.

When you consider the burden placed on restaurants, the burden placed on diners, and the amount of time/money being spent on hiring people to do this stuff.. it is a waste of time. The cons far outweigh any pros.
