For me, it reaffirmed some beliefs. I have worked from home (and in a different state than my company's HQ) for the past 7 months. Outside of the COVID crap, I have very much enjoyed the flexibility it provides and have found myself more productive and am able to control my schedule in a greater way.
I long felt like the "arse in seats" model, dealing with commutes, sitting in traffic to spend half your day wasted by useless meetings and idle chatter, only to try to squeeze out time after work for personal errands, the gym, child care, was a complete sham and no way to live.
This experience I believe has awakened many to that sham. And I'm actually happy to see that from what I can tell, many companies will make remote work and work from home a permanent fixture going forward.
I know that personally I will never work for another company that doesn't offer a flexible work model. I'm on year 17 of my career and have no intention of going back to a standard arse in seat, 9-5 model ever again.
