I am 42 and was looking for a daily vitamin/supplement for general health benefits. What does the board recommend and why?

Get bloodwork done and figure out what you’re deficient in and go from there.

Whey protein after the gym, multi-vitamin (which is pointless but I do it anyway), krill, and turmeric.
With the turmeric, I can’t remember the last time I took a pain med.

Get bloodwork done
Do this first and then build out your supplements.
I currently am on 5000 IU Vitamin D, GNC multivitamin and whey protein.

People tend to be most deficient in Magnesium, and Iodine and D3, but everyone is different. A multi is probably a good safety net, but you may be missing some stuff or overdoing others. Really depends on your diet. Either way I’d think any multivitamin is decent enough.

I’ve long been in the camp that multivitamins are a waste of money as long as one eats a balanced diet which I pretty much do.However,I recently bought a bottle of BAUSCH&LOMB Preservision eye vitamin and mineral supplement.Has all the vitamins plus minerals such as magnesium ,zinc, copper etc. Also has Lutein and Zeaxanthin for eye health.Bottle says take 2 a day but I take 1.Figure it can’t hurt, might help.

42? You need some NAD+ in your daily regime.
..and I just purchased a case!

What’d you get? I’m 42 and just got a 3 month supply of Tru Niagen (300 mg). Haven’t started it yet.
