My brand loyalty went out the window when I realized that most tools are owned by 2 or 3 umbrella companies and are usually manufactured by the lowest bidder.
Outside of commercial grade tools, there's not a whole lot if difference in major brands.

Ridgid's lifetime service agreement sold me on the brand for my drill. They'll replace batteries. I'll probably use them for anything else I can just for that.

Makita and Hilti are alone amoung the big boys.
A few other small players like Fein.
I use Festool and Makita for everything except a Bosch Sander and a Fein Oscillating tool.
