Not for me. We bought a quarter steer at $1.65/lb on the hoof and paid $100 for our share of the processing. ...Had to borrow freezer space for all the meat!
ETA: we buy this every year from another family in our livestock club. Purchase is unrelated to current situation. It's a high-dress show Angus. Best beef we've ever bought.

Live cattle right out of the feedlots are selling for about 90c per pound right now. You can have them delivered anywhere in the south on a backhaul usually for about 5c per pound.
You go shafted.

We do the same: beef, lamb, pork from local producers. Humanely raised, family farms. Freezers are always full of meat but we pay about double that for custom cut/wrap.

High Dressing up to 70.00
Breakers up to 65.00
Lean up to 63.00
Bulls up to 92.00
That was a solid buy thank you from the cattle association

Same situation but we have a deep freezer so no need to borrow space. I was actually on the way to pick it up when I heard Trump declare the state of emergency. Well stocked with hamburger, steaks, and roasts. Still need to stock up on pork for smoking though!
