2008 Starting Lineup

Question for LSU fans:
Disclaimer: I mean no harm in coming on this board and would like to talk some honest football with y'all in light of our season opener. What I think I'll do is come out with a scouting report on both squads that may help you learn a bit about our Mountaineers and will help me learn more about y'all at the same time.
My question is are these the correct starters for your team in 2008? Let me know if I have anything wrong. Also, if I have 2 guys listed at a position, tell me who you think will win the battle and why.
QB- Andrew Hatch, Jarrett Lee
HB- Keiland Williams, Richard Murphy, Charles Scott
FB- Quinn Johnson
WR1- Demetrius Byrd
WR2- Brandon LaFell
LT- Ciron Black
LG- Herman Johnson
C- Brett Helms
RG- Lyle Hitt
RT- Jarvis Jones, Joseph Barksdale
TE- Richard Dickson
RDE- Kirston Pittman
DT- Charles Alexander
DT- Ricky Jean-Francois, Marlon Favorite
LDE- Tyson Jackson
BLB- Perry Riley
MLB- Darry Beckwith
WLB- Kelvin Sheppard
RCB- Jai Eugene
LCB- Chris Hawkins, Ron Brooks
SS- Harry Coleman, Chad Jones
FS- Curtis Taylor
P- Brady Dalfrey
K- Colt David

Patrick Johnson very well might start at one corner. We will use all 3 of those RB's. RJF will start at DT. Dont know about QB.

I narrowed it down for you on who you'll see on opening day. The QB position is still completely up for grabs. Also no one knows if Alexander or Favorite will get the start in game 1. I left the RBs as is because we'll platoon all of them fairly equally.

PJ will not start game 1 at corner.

You won't see PJ starting against you guys.

Ok, but everything looks good other than the DT backup? What about Chad Jones?

Maybe not. But last I heard, he was impressive enough and it was starting to look like he and Hawkins as starters.

He will replace "the weakest link".

Chad Jones I believe will most definitely start game 1 at SS. He's got way too much talent to waste away for another year.

That's what I thought, but your media guide reflected otherwise.

I'd pull my hair out if Harry Coleman started all next year over Chad Jones. No offense to him, because he's good, but he's no Chad Jones. The only reason he could possibly start in front of Jones is he's got seniority over Jones.

Same could be said for Jai Eugene and Patrick Johnson...

Patrick Johnson hasn't even been on the team but for a month or two. He's got learning and experience to catch up to.

Patrick Johnson will probably play a lot in place of Jai. Likely not to start, but who knows.
