i was at that USC game and it is definitely the loudest LSU game but the tv version i have of it does not capture the noise well. It is the USC broadcast and was done in a closed off booth. I used to have the John Ferguson radio broadcast of that game but it got destroyed but i do remember that it was deafening. Would love to get a copy of that.

Was sitting in the student section for the ‘79 USC game & the sustained level of crowd noise + the electric atmosphere was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
Campus was buzzing with excitement the entire week before the game.
Crushing defeat but the Tigers left it all on the field against a very talented team.
