3 pm, sunny day, no wind, power goes out.

Couple of min later get a text, saying back on by 530 pm.

Talking and investigating finds out they are replacing power poles that broke during the rainstorm that came through Tuesday night. Great. But why are they doing this at 3 pm on a Thursday? And why can't they let people know ahead of time they are cutting off power to do the work?

They should have given some notice. The more the better.

As for the schedule, that’s hard to plan, I’m sure there was a lot of storm damage. Many probably don’t have power. Entergy is probably working as best they can and is working as efficiently as possible.

I don’t see any issue with working any time during daylight.

Tuesday night when that storm hit, our lights flickered off and on a couple of times, but our house never lost power. A few blocks over, about 80 or so houses lost power for like 90 min. Then they got it back on. Not sure if they did a temp fix or just re-routed.

Poles were broken but the power has been back on for everyone since that 90 min period Tues night.

Today, they are replacing the poles and for obvious safety reasons, they need to turn the power off. But clearly they knew they had to do this work, and had a crew assigned to do it, so I don't understand why they couldn't have given us a small heads up. 30 minutes I think is plenty fair. Not asking for days.

They fact is, they don't have to have good customer service, because they are a monopoly, they own their regulator through corruption, and just like so many other things here in LA, we just have to take it.
