Deaths are what counts to me. It’s been killing 50 people per day in La since the beginning of March.

Cases keep increasing. We're all going to die.

Doctors, patients, infectious disease scientists, a large part of the general public, etc.
Why?
Why?

Actually, the most important figure since the beginning is hospitalizations and critical care admissions.
Total cases are fine only if used as a metric to predict the strain on the healthcare system.

It's not about cases, tests or deaths. It's about the capacity of our medical system to handle this. We have the system in place, which has been expanded over the last month, to handle all cases. In fact, on April 13, we had a high of 2,134 hospital beds occupied by COVID patients. Yesterday it was at 1,683. There are over 10,000 hospital beds in the state plus the additional 2,000 at Morial Convention Center.
The crisis is over. If there ever was one.

But hey, who's paying attention, right politicians (and media)?

What was the cause of death for those people?

I do, and likely the rest of the planet that has any sense.

People die every day of all kinds of things. Circle of life.
What we should care about as a civilized society is people needlessly dying. In this case, that would be not enough hospital capacity to treat the illness. We haven't come close to being overwhelmed there. Mission accomplished.

How many people on average die each day in Louisiana b/c of an illness, and has that been changed with the wake of the corona?

Can't argue with this. Well, I've heard the number of 7,500 or so beds instead of the 10,000, but either way there seems to be plenty of capacity.
To be honest, death does not really frighten me, but I did not want to be stuck on a stretcher in the hallway of a hospital with tons of others if this thing had gone over capacity. That does not seem to anywhere near a possibility anymore.
