He should have wanted to stay because he played for MY Favorite team.

That's it, that's the reason.

that's what's happening here. A lot of people not remembering the situation we were in at this time. We just finished a game out from the top seed in the west, and lost in the conference semi's to the defending champs in 7 games.
Despite the injuries the next year, still finished with 49 wins, yet our poor as shite owner tried to trade away Tyson for nothing more than cost cutting, letting his team know he was all about money, and didn't care about winning despite having a near championship caliber roster with a young guy that should have been the league MVP the previous year. the team fell apart after that trade was tried, even though it didn't go through.
THey got embarrassed by Denver in the playoffs, and the parts that i remember about that series is CP3 playing his arse off and getting knocked down constantly with his few healthy teammates doing nothing to help him.
After that season, they got rid of Chandler, got rid of Byron Scott, and hired someone who had a resume of assistant coach for Marist 15 years ago in Jeff Bower. Didn't make the playoffs and CP3 was hurt half the year.

Then we hire Monty, and the NBA owns the team, finish decent enough with 46 wins, and lose to the Lakers in 6.

SO why would CP3 want to stay on a team that is owned by the NBA, and has no idea what direction the team is going b/c they have no owner and have shown they don't care about winning? Benson didn't buy the team until months after CP3 was traded.

Now this is a good Hornets history lesson, thank you for being logical and stating factual events and not hypotheticals.
